Go and Spread….. the conditions

Mark 16:
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

Gospel means the good news, what good news comes with conditions or hate?

I was reading Deb’s post about push of somepeople to put people in an “ex-gay” situation so that they appear to be holier for God. But instead are simply hiding the person that God has made. Specifically, I was reading some of the blogs that she linked to in the post.

This brought about the following email to Deb:

I read your post and also checked out —–’s post on the fact that she believes she is being ‘called’ to minister to gays or whatnot- not fight poverty or take care of the sick or be a friend to the widow, but speak out against gays, along with her anti-abortion fight and any other fundie narrow-minded socially warped idea of what needs to be fixed.

If there is one thing I believe about the fundies, it is that Satan is using them well to deviate from the ‘good news’. They don’t preach a gospel of love/foregiveness or grace, but one of conditions, commands and a God that turns away. Just the kind of thing that satan would like to have going on.
I can’t convey it enough here, but I have utter disdain for this. Even when I see it in myself. Sadly, many make a living on this spiritual nonsense and brush away the truth of God’s love.

I’m done ranting….

There is nothing better than a fundie who spreads… the conditions
John 10: 10″The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
 11″I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.”

The thief in this picture is Satan and those he sways to take people off that path of life through Christ that gives us a relationship with God. I believe that many fundies are doing a good job for Satan so people’s souls can be stolen, killed and destroyed by the lies that only have an impact in this life and not in the hereafter (who I sleep with).

As Christians who are gay,lesbian, bi or trans, our ‘job’ or calling is to be the brother/sister of Christ to others. Since Jesus is not walking among us now, we are to walk in his path and sharge the good news in his place with all people; poor, rich, widowed, partnered, sick, healthy, etc. WE are not to choose who we feel is best for the hereafter, only God has control over that.
