I was watching the movie “The Fountain” today (good movie by the way) and it deals with love, death and eternal life. It got me thinking about how it appears God views that.
As one looks through the old and new Testament in the bible, if you look at it closely, God is very bi-polar. One book shows him ‘smiting’ people for the smallest infraction and another book talks about how we should forgive without end. But when I take a step back what I see is a God who has incredible patience, love and forgiveness for the human race. A love that is obviously unconditional or he would continue to ‘smite’ people as they stand throughout history.
I find it interesting that when Adam and Eve were in the Garden, they chose the tree of knowledge and not the tree of life. Perhaps they already knew that their life was an eternal one that was ok by them.
Hmmm…..
O that’s very interesting! Hmmm. I wonder if anyone has ever analyzed scripture for what mental issues God and biblical characters might have….
Thanks for posting this.
